Jeff Patterson and Steve White are remodelers in Pittsburgh, PA with over 30 years combined experience. They’re trained to install Schluter, Wedi, Laticrete, KBRS, and tub shower combo shower systems. Steve is a Certified Tile Installer through the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation.
Module 1 shows how to build Wedi’s curbed shower (Wedi Fundo Primo) over wood subfloors. You will see how to do this properly and avoid water leaks. In addition, you will see step-by-step how to install a Delta rough-in valve with separate handheld diverter. Finally, we’ll share how to tile this shower using 4″x 12″ subway tile, add glass mosaics, build a custom shower niche with pencil trim, and add solid quartz tops to the bench/curb.
Module 2 shows how to install Schluter’s KERDI shower over wood subfloors. You will see how to do this according to Schluter’s Handbook and maintain your shower warranty. Furthermore, you’ll see how to install the Grohe rough-in valve, which is fast and easy. Finally, we’ll share how to tile this shower using vertical 12″ x 24″ porcelain, build a custom shower niche with metal profiles, tile the shower curb, and cap the walls using Schluter RONDEC.
Module 3 shows how to install Schluter’s new Thin Tray and Wide Roll KERDI over wood subfloors. You will see the proper way to build this Schluter shower and keep your warranty. In addition, you’ll see how to install the Hansgrohe iBox rough-in valve which is probably the easiest to understand. Finally, we’ll share how to tile this shower using 3″ x 6″ ceramic tiles in a herringbone pattern, set a beautiful 8″ x 8″ porcelain accent wall, install Schluter metal shelves, cap the walls with bullnose, and tile the curb with subway tile and chair rail.
